As a Graduate in our Money Group, you’ll have the opportunity to work across four directorates: Economics, Financial Markets, Money and Cash, and Financial Market Infrastructures and Settlements. You’ll apply the knowledge from your studies in economics or finance to real‑world policy and research questions spanning monetary policy, New Zealand and international macroeconomics, financial markets, New Zealand’s cash system, and our payments system.
Through this work, you’ll contribute to shaping how money and payments function in a modern economy and support a resilient and effective financial system and price stability.
We’re looking for four graduates with sharp analytical and communication skills, curiosity, and a drive to learn quickly. A postgraduate degree in economics, finance, or a similar quantitative field is required.

- By early 2027 you’ll have your tertiary study wrapping up and are ready to apply your economics, finance or other relevant study into real mahi.
- You graduated within the past two years obtaining your highest qualification by February 2027.
- You attained a B+ or higher-grade average from previous 12 months study.
- You’ll be available to work full-time from early 2027 in Pōneke | Wellington or Tāmaki Makaurau | Auckland.
- You’ll be a NZ citizen, NZ permanent resident or holder of a valid work visa allowing full time employment.
